Another Day At School

SPM Yayasan Pahang is giving RM 200 to deserving students like me, so with that sole purpose I went to SABS Hari Anugerah. Maybe it wasn't the only purpose. Met up with a lot of friends that I miss for so long and they definitely worth more than that 4 pieces of green-bluish, ATMs-sometimes-cannot-take-in new notes. SABS is famous for their very long breath (cheong hei) speech givers. Starting with that many syllabled Arabic greeting and ending in somewhere in the clouds. Typical. Calvin's ear are just too accomodated to such situations. Oh, finally can go up stage and snatch that certificate folder. There was a commotion over whether want to bow to the audience or not. And very courteous Calvin bowed. Shake hand and smile a little, only to receive a compliment again as repeated to me by Hishamuddin and  Adnan Yaakob. Chang Hong Seong : "Wow, you so tall ar? Taller than me!" Ok fine, but do you all need to repeat the exact same words to me every time? Anyway, it's a compliment that Malaysians always repeat in the exact same words to me. Don't complain, CALVIN!!!! RM 200 go and snatch it now!!!

The very crowded Kaunter Penerimaan Wang with greedy students trying to snatch back their rightful inheritance from the school.

Calvin wasn't that greedy anyway, so he killed his time by snapping photos with many friends

Scrabble buddies - Jason, Kevin and Meng Hong

Science and Mathematics Society coworkers - Fu and Leong

More than just SPM Straight A1 friends and classmates - Ji Hong and Esdelyn

5Sc3 friends - Yuan Ting and Hui Sen

Form Teachers - Form 4 Pn Razana and Form 5 Pn Rohana

The Three Muskeeteers in 5Sc1, my same row classmates - Chee Siang and Chee Chung

Two tall bodyguards guarding the coolest Ketua Pengawas - Boon Hwee

And of course the Idiot Gang!

Looking back, this might be the last time I step into school. And I am very proud to say I did make a lot of friends here and glad that those who are still there recognised me as their friend. To all my friends I sincerely thank you all. You have made my time in SABS great and worthwhile. Editorial Board 2007 designed the coolest and most radical Citarasa magazine. Science and Mathematics managed to organise the about 250 people competition called the DaVinCSI Code. The Choir Team managed to make it into the Nationals for consecutively 5 years. The Scrabble which fought hard to get into Nationals twice. The wonderful people in PBSM who created such family like atmosphere every week. The Bible Knowledge students managed to honour God with their 100% A1 results in SPM 2007. The 2007 5Sc1 students made Pn Rohana proud with so far the highest number of straight A1's students. Thank you once again!

End of story Part 1. Wonder where the RM 200 went next?

Another Day At East Coast Mall

So where went the RM 200? Of course to newly opened East Coast Mall during our Idiot Gang reunion. Okay, only about RM 20 (10% of the original amount) went there. First of course, the very goody-goody boy Calvin doesn't like wasting money. And second, the things there were too expensive to buy... The latter reason seems more relevant though...

With Jyo Lyn's time and after repetition "MEET AT THE ENTRANCE!!!", all Idiots gathered at the entrance and looking too smart to be KOA (Kuantan Orang Asli). Some went as often as four times already when the Mall just opened four days ago, but still did not know quite sure where to go. It's a little big for KOAs. Carrefour and Parkson and all brands in the world cramped into this place. It is just too great a temptation and curiosity to visit the East Coast Mall for the KOAs.

After hearing speeches after speeches under the searing heat of the unventilated school hall, the place to head for was FOOD! From the ground floor, the aroma of the Laksa Specialist was detected not just by Rodent but all. Up to the third floor we went, but even the hungry tummys can't keep us away from peeping into shops. Some guys inclusive of yours truly went to the toilet. And it was in a horrible condition. There is still an unsightly plank on top of the stalls and the taps was so complicated to open and they managed only driplets. Anyway, yours truly wanted to waste his 1GB Sandisk Compact Flash Card, so very lamely the four took pictures in front of the mirror. Chauvinistic vanity...

Get what I mean? Haha...

After lavatory visitation, arouse a dilemma of choosing which restaurant to have their lunch. Laksa Specialist was jammed pack and the laksa was way too expensive, Johnny's Steamboat was also full, KFC not full but takkan come to East Coast eat at KFC? Last option, Rasamas. It was pretty full too and it took us many rounds and rounds on Third Floor before we went berkokok bersama Rasamas...

The food was not that okay anyway, still eatable. I was having a hard time fighting the chicken and help came from future surgeon Dr Gabriel. For your information, I am a very lazy eater and don't really know how to eat. That is probably one of the reasons I'm so bamboo...

Filled the stomach, it was time to walk walk. What really caught our attention are the laptops at Sony. All like a bunch of idiots and indeed we are, start to throw faces in front of the laptops only to get such weird pictures... Greek warrior Chan and Pirate Calvin...

Watching us in horror were Ju Vin and Jia Li outside. Meet again, haha, East Coast Mall is after all a better place to be than school...

Do you see the Sushi King behind the pic? Mr Calvin, the shoot everything photographer, ask the Botaks to pose there. Sometimes, throwfacism is a better memory and an example was this shot.

However, seeing all the expensive price tags and nowhere to sit down and yamcha, East Coast Mall lost its attraction and we flew to Coffee Street, somewhere near MegaMall, the now haunted Mall thanks to EC Mall.

A plastic glass of drink and soon the lame jokes and wuliaoism took over... Evidence? Playing with water, trying to leave some footsteps of Idiots...

Great day with great friends but not at such great location. Tadaa... ends another day of the Idiots!

Labour Day = Photography Day

Labour Day was a busy day for me. The whole house was busy... And me too was giving labour (don't get the idea of Calvin being pregnant 9 months old and is desperate to bear a child idea into your heads!)

Somehow, I took my camera and start snapping at everything in my garden. Woke up 4 am and got nothing to do but to eat breakfast and check emails and sms. 7 am I was "giving birth" to my interest in photography. Today, nature calls... (I know my idioms are kinda...you know)

Let me stop talking and let the worth-a-thousand-words pictures do the talking...

Dad enjoys waterlilies a lot especially with their variety of brightful colours...

And this one looks like a flare of fire... a final display before it shrivels and withers off

And in the pots too are these often overlooked water plants with innocent white flowers. One who never overlooks them are the tiny bees...

I'm not sure if this is a water lily or not, for its leaves are quite large as in a lotus. Admirable are its flowers and also the ever hardworking bees... The bees: "Hey, ape budak malas ni tangkap gambar kita bekerja? Hari ni kan Hari Pekerja? Mari kita kerjakan dia!"... Calvin: "Too bad you are stingless bees!" XD

And somewhere some bird nest fern (I don't know why the call it "bird nest", nothing seems like that expensive saliva...). It is still edible though and a very nice dish indeed, any goers?

Above these bird nests or perhaps better to say, supporting these bird nests are the majestic and tall Pulai trees. It's actually an alternative rubber tree and a very prized type of rubber called getah perca used in dentistry. So when Calvin is an unemployed graduate, Mr Yong will call him to be a rubber tapper...*sob sob*, got twenty trees at least at my home to tap ler!

Sometimes being tall as Calvin, one often miss the things below them. But you try to "humble" down yourself, you'll discover amazing beauty... like this white flower which fell among the dry leaves...

And some small going-to-be-big trees seedlings on the ground... they must have envied me when I took their photographs... *cheh cheh* *BOOOO!!!* "Humble" konon...

Diligently growing are these mosses, nature's bed...

Weeds among rocks... my dad says they can cure headache or dandruff, or maybe it was another plant, nevertheless it's a mini beauty among rocks.

Exotic and much feared are these tiny plants which has a carnivorous diet. Tales of monkeys found in pitchers of plants too often haunt people in olden times, but this is an creative plant who is just too hungry.  The picture below rather portrays a wrong image of this plant as being cunning and has that killing aura...

This species in particular is so cute.... awww...

Not food for the pitcher plant is this insect, an I-don't-know-migrated-species? grasshopper. Interesting colours for photography, bad for camouflage though... this is the result of narcissicm in insects...

It has been a laborious day but it just showed how creative is our Creator in creating all these creations. All are intricately designed and wonderfully coloured. Perhaps it's a time to go for a walk in nature and start admiring nature. My camera, that so old fashioned and heavy not suitable for camwhoring Nikon Coolpix just captures some of its beauties to inspire you. Your eyes is the best camera you can ever get, so treasure what you see in Nature and make life beautiful. People say our lives is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breaths away....

So are you ready for breathtaking moments?
