I Pray

I pray, for I am small and tiny
I pray, for I clearly know that I need
I pray, for I can no longer fake the feelings
I pray, for Your love is what I need

Ever wondered why we pray? Or what is prayer itself?
Is it asking to strike a lottery? Is it to appease the gods? Why God want us to pray eventhough He knows everything? Is it because that old Santa Claus like grandfather's ears can't hear that well far above in the clouds?

My God, yes I can say MY God, just like how I can say my dad, is really a loving God, just like my daddy. Praying is actually just talking to Him and you can talk to Him just anything. Why do we still tell Him of our stuff even He knows all about us? Words are powerful. Thoughts expressed verbally means action, means you care to let Him know. Try thinking that you know that you love your dad but you did not say it. Do you think your dad don't know that you love him? But he really appreciates when you take the effort to say "DAD, I LOVE YOU." While praying, you need not to use complicated words or phrases, thees or thous. You can even address Him as Daddy in heaven!

He's not like our earthly dad who can't all times be with you. He promises to be there with you at all times, free to talk any moment about anything, but we often turn to him as our last resort, when all things fail us. Then again, He still loves us, no matter how tiny and small we feel. He understands all the trials and problems we went through. He wipes off every tear. And He comforts us with his still, small voice.

I just want let you know such a God exists. Whenever you feel the whole world cave in all around you, know that You can still talk to Him. He answers.

A really nice Chinese song to share with you...

I Pray

I pray, for I am small and tiny

I pray, for I clearly know that I need

明暸 [míng liáo]
Clearly

[Ní xīn yì duì wǒ zhòng yào]
Your will is central to me

I pray, for I can no longer fake the feelings

I pray, for Your love is what I need

[Ní guān huái]
You care

What I went through, You understand

Some things I just wanna tell you

'cause no one loves me like You

Tears of pain from my eye flowed

I know You wiped it away for me

As day breaks I wanna cry to You:

主耶穌今天我為祢活 [Zhǔ Yē Sū jīn tiān wǒ wèi Ní huǒ]
Lord Jesus today I live for You

All the strength that I need

[Ní tiān tiān cì gěi wǒ]
Daily you give it to me

[Ní ēn diǎn gòu wǒ yòng]
Your grace is all I need

Ten Definitions of Calvin's Boredom...

Definition #1
Small Ghost Head is afraid of ghosts so she spent the night with Big Ghost Head, performed Thai boxing muay thai on a platform called Calvin’s bed (aka kicking each other in subconscious mode and rolling 360 degrees on the bed)

Definition #2
Calvin’s dream of becoming PRObation driver is shattered by a rain in a dry June. Adventures of switching on the car wiper at maximum speed, hydroplaning on the road (aka skidding) and making Mr Sentiasa Smiling smile like you have never seen when Calvin sends him down to a valley on the bypass. Indeed, Calvin never saw him at all, what more he smiling. T.T

Definition #3
Going online and spam other people’s Cbox like this:
12 Jun 08, 13:01
e-Lena: apa ni spongebob?? go study lah. hahaha. all the best wei...
12 Jun 08, 18:19
yue: haha there's a time to study.. and always time to play.
12 Jun 08, 20:00
e-Lena: haha yea, make sure your play time don't exceed your study time! =p all the best. haha.
14 Jun 08, 22:36
Calvin>>Elena: it's not the study time that matters lar.... quality. Ben, don't take her advice...jk
15 Jun 08, 11:29
yue: thanks calvin...=)
15 Jun 08, 17:56
e-Lena: w.h.a.t.e.v.e.r........
17 Jun 08, 16:13
Calvin: how are days after the two days and a day after e-Lena say w.h.a.t.e.v.e.r.......?
17 Jun 08, 20:46
e-Lena: I'm not sure, but... Calvin can be SO LAME till I can't even define lame. or rather sometimes I just don't understand... hah.
17 Jun 08, 23:37
Calvin>>Elena: cant define lame? let me help you! Lame: unable to walk properly because your leg or foot is injured or weak... page 900 Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English. Understand?
18 Jun 08, 00:56
yue: easy children.. its just a post...in MY blog....
18 Jun 08, 14:41
e-Lena: nyeahahaha
18 Jun 08, 17:34
Calvin: DAD!!! *screaming and squeaking over injustice*
AND THEN I STILL THINK I WROTE LONGMAN DICTIONARY… (I can almost hear Elena say: Panjang Man, SHUT UP!!!)

Definition #4
Walked miles around the park and saw nothing worth shooting. Saw chickens crossing the road and you thought of emails like this:
GEORGE W. BUSH
We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either with us or it is against us. There is no middle ground here.
SADDAM HUSSEIN
This was an unprovoked act of rebellion and we were quite justified in dropping 50 tons of nerve gas on it.
CAPTAIN KIRK
To boldly go where no chicken has gone before.
FOX MULDER
You saw it cross the road with your own eyes! How many more chickens have to cross before you believe it?
ALBERT EINSTEIN
Did the chicken really cross the road or did the road move beneath the chicken?
THE BIBLE
And God came down from the heavens, and He saith unto the chicken, "Thou shalt cross the road." And the chicken crosseth the road, and there was much rejoicing.

Definition #5
At night witnessed a dog catching squad who caught only one dog in the operation there were at least five of them. No wonder it’s called “a dog” catching squad. And they are so stupid till they fall into the big drain with the dog.

Definition #6
Read Ping Ton comic.

Definition #7
Woke up next morning at 7, just in time to say goodbye to Ghost Heads. I really loved the idea of saying some last words to the Ghost Heads before I die in a car crash while in driving lesson so that these Ghost Heads will have some terrible time of missing me after all the troubles they have given me.

Definition #8
Realised there was still no driving lesson in a bright and sunny day.

Definition #9
Woke up before lunch and found Less Big Ghost Head arguing who ate the ice cream given by Popo and accused me. And later found out it was the generous Popo who scooped out some ice cream for herself and then only gave it to us to eat. It’s a tactic she uses to lure the Ghost Heads to visit her anyway… COOL GRANDMOTHER I HAVE!

Definition #10
And posting such a ridiculous post and someone would actually read it!

Thinking on the brighter side, JyoLyn says I can go badminton with her, and Ting and Yew Hong are coming back this weekend!

To A Loving Father and Teacher

Don't worry, not an emo post to scare you off. XD

Since today is Father's Day, my blog shall be filled with something related to my dad. I know it's torturous to read my mighty long posts without any pictures. Not today!

Here is a "birthday card" for my dad by his 1997 Upper Six SABS students.

Note: You hover over the [bracketed text] for a translation of what my dad is speaking and what is the interesting meaning behind it

Date: 14th January 1997
Time: 8.20 am

“Excuse me Mr Yong, something has happened and we need to conduct a spot-check right NOW in this U6Sc1!! All the other Science classes will have to come in also.”

[“HAH!! Okay, Nah dengar ahhh. Saya tak mau ada pelajar kelas ini yang kena tangkap ahhh sebab SAYA yang akan terpaksa tanggung!!!”]

The classes move in and start closing the doors and windows.

“HOOOI, APA PUNYA SPOT-CHECK NI!!! KENA tutup semua pintu one meh!?!?”

Hmmm, the Prefect Board seems to be losing its touch. This “Spot-Check” business seems to be a very happy event. Mr Yong looks like he is promoting the “Smile with your heart and the world smiles with you” theme.

“Err, thank you, thank you banyak-banyak ahh…”

No, actually THANK YOU Yong Sir, if it weren’t for YOU… how else could we possibly get a better excuse to skip one whole period of studies leh????

These cakes took TWO honourable Secretaries from Sc1 to [“kau tim”].

And this is the BIRTHDAY BOY blowing out the candles, unfortunately … Not very successful.

This picture clearly [membuktikan] bahawa our Physics sifu terpaksa meminta S.O.S. from his Sc2 monitor.

This is Mr Yong showing that there is not much resistance ([rintangan]) involved when cutting a cake.

Ohhhh … “somebody”s REALLY haaappy today …

This is the school’s STRONGEST MAN ([dari segi suara]) posing with the ’97 U6Sc1 students; double maths students who see double the amount of “stars” the other science students see.

This is Mr Yong (with his “You better listen to me when I’m teaching or you watch out!” look) posing with ’97 U6Sc2 students. Mr Yong is incidentally also the “[tai see taw]” of this class.

This is the best photo of all. Do note that some KRAZY dare-devil has made the all-powerful YONG SAU PENG grow two horn!! Wanna solve the mystery?!?! It is obvious enough who knows who the culprit is…

This photo shows Ah Yong Sir posing with Ms Khor and the U6Sc3 students of ’97; the MOST quiet class in SABS. Well, that is according to Mr Lai anyway …

This is Mr Yong showing his appreciation:

[Ujian Bulan Februari dibatalkan atas permintaan ramai!]
