Labour Day = Photography Day

Labour Day was a busy day for me. The whole house was busy... And me too was giving labour (don't get the idea of Calvin being pregnant 9 months old and is desperate to bear a child idea into your heads!)

Somehow, I took my camera and start snapping at everything in my garden. Woke up 4 am and got nothing to do but to eat breakfast and check emails and sms. 7 am I was "giving birth" to my interest in photography. Today, nature calls... (I know my idioms are kinda...you know)

Let me stop talking and let the worth-a-thousand-words pictures do the talking...

Dad enjoys waterlilies a lot especially with their variety of brightful colours...

And this one looks like a flare of fire... a final display before it shrivels and withers off

And in the pots too are these often overlooked water plants with innocent white flowers. One who never overlooks them are the tiny bees...

I'm not sure if this is a water lily or not, for its leaves are quite large as in a lotus. Admirable are its flowers and also the ever hardworking bees... The bees: "Hey, ape budak malas ni tangkap gambar kita bekerja? Hari ni kan Hari Pekerja? Mari kita kerjakan dia!"... Calvin: "Too bad you are stingless bees!" XD

And somewhere some bird nest fern (I don't know why the call it "bird nest", nothing seems like that expensive saliva...). It is still edible though and a very nice dish indeed, any goers?

Above these bird nests or perhaps better to say, supporting these bird nests are the majestic and tall Pulai trees. It's actually an alternative rubber tree and a very prized type of rubber called getah perca used in dentistry. So when Calvin is an unemployed graduate, Mr Yong will call him to be a rubber tapper...*sob sob*, got twenty trees at least at my home to tap ler!

Sometimes being tall as Calvin, one often miss the things below them. But you try to "humble" down yourself, you'll discover amazing beauty... like this white flower which fell among the dry leaves...

And some small going-to-be-big trees seedlings on the ground... they must have envied me when I took their photographs... *cheh cheh* *BOOOO!!!* "Humble" konon...

Diligently growing are these mosses, nature's bed...

Weeds among rocks... my dad says they can cure headache or dandruff, or maybe it was another plant, nevertheless it's a mini beauty among rocks.

Exotic and much feared are these tiny plants which has a carnivorous diet. Tales of monkeys found in pitchers of plants too often haunt people in olden times, but this is an creative plant who is just too hungry.  The picture below rather portrays a wrong image of this plant as being cunning and has that killing aura...

This species in particular is so cute.... awww...

Not food for the pitcher plant is this insect, an I-don't-know-migrated-species? grasshopper. Interesting colours for photography, bad for camouflage though... this is the result of narcissicm in insects...

It has been a laborious day but it just showed how creative is our Creator in creating all these creations. All are intricately designed and wonderfully coloured. Perhaps it's a time to go for a walk in nature and start admiring nature. My camera, that so old fashioned and heavy not suitable for camwhoring Nikon Coolpix just captures some of its beauties to inspire you. Your eyes is the best camera you can ever get, so treasure what you see in Nature and make life beautiful. People say our lives is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breaths away....

So are you ready for breathtaking moments?
